King Coal – Screening with filmmaker Elaine McMillion Sheldon (80m)

Join us for a very special screening of King Coal, Elaine McMillion Sheldon’s latest documentary film about a place and a people with a complex history, but whose spirit and capacity to dream a better future will not be diminished. Preceding the screening will be a kick-off reception for the Dark Skies symposium.

Come spend an evening under the stars. We’ll be joined by astrophotographers and several talented amateur astronomers who will have a few telescopes set up for viewing. The main attraction will be Haudenosaunee storyteller, Perry Ground, who will share indigenous star stories.

Concert and Community Square Dance

Saturday, April 6th The Palace @ 8-11pm
Concert & Square Dance – We will celebrate the end of the symposium with live music and a community square dance. The concert will feature The Sea The Sea, Wild Ponies, and Danny Schmidt. We’ll be joined by percussive dancer and square dance caller Becky Hill who will teach and lead us through the dances.
